Technology is an important part of the learning environment at McCombs. The college has a sophisticated network and provides students with valuable resources, such as 24-hour computer labs, McCombs email accounts, and wireless internet access throughout our buildings.
This website provides important information for incoming students, as well as recommendations for computer and software purchases for all students at McCombs.
Before Your Orientation Session:
There are a few things that you MUST to do BEFORE you arrive for your orientation session:
1. Make sure you know your UT-EID and password
As a student you will have several different kinds of accounts with the University and College of Business. The most important of those is your UT-EID. This credential is assigned by the University and is used widely across campus.
2. Get your McCombs Account and set a password
The Business School will provide you with technology resources, including a special McCombs email address, that you'll need to use an account other than your UT-EID to access. Your McCombs Account, usually called your MSB Number, is assigned when you're accepted into the college. Since you'll be using your business school resources during orientation, you must know your MSB Number and password before you arrive.
3. Check your McCombs email for messages
Once you've got your MSB Number and password, you can start using your McCombs email account. You should do this both before orientation and after to stay connected to your program and for access to our student, faculty and staff directory.
